Life History of Guru AtmaNambi

Guru AtmaNambi earlier known as Nambiyarasan,  was born on March 17th, 1955. His birthplace is a hamlet called Pazhayakoodalur in the district of Kumbakonam in Southern India. His parents were Shri. Subramanian and Shrimathi Mayilambal, who were engaged primarily in agriculture,.

As a child, His first teacher was Shri. Nataraja Gurukkal -a temple priest. The priest engaged Nambiyarasan in activities relating to the daily maintenance of the temple.  The priest also trained Him to perform priestly and ritualistic practices and initiated Him into Bhakti Yoga.  One day, the priest’s mother took in Nambiyarasan as a member of their family – declaring Him to be one of her sons.

At the age of 26, Nambiyarasan met His second teacher, Shri. Lakshmi Narayanan who was His senior colleague at work. Shri Narayanan initiated Him into Karma Yoga. Under his guidance, Nambiyarasan developed immense clarity of thought and realised the experience of performing activities with total involvement.

In the third phase of the journey, He met Shri. Gnanaparanjothi, who initiated Him into Kundalini Yoga. Nambaiyarasan also learnt several other yogic practices that helped shape His spiritual journey with added stability and focus.

As a part of the journey, He visited many Masters and one such visit was to Shri. Yogi Ram Surat Kumar (an Enlightened Being). It was in the presence of Shri. Yogi Ram Surat Kumar that Nambiyarsan experienced “Satori”.  This experience happened at Tiruvannamalai, a spiritual abode in Southern India

Thereafter, Nambiyarasan met Shri. Mohan Bharathi under the guidance of Guru Paranjothi.  With regular meditation, He attained deep states of inner silence.  As His energies began to gather in a certain space, Enlightenment happened on October 7th, 1994. 

Following His enlightenment, He dedicated himself to the cause of creating a new humanity by shifting human consciousness from the physical to the inner Self.

He travels extensively and connects with His many devotees across the world. His primary aim and focus is to create a Mass Spiritual Awakening of people.
